Call for Essay Submissions:

James Dickey Society
A River Runs through Dickey

Not only rich in literary precedents and analogues, the works of James Dickey have also served to influence writers who have succeeded him.  Presumably with four papers/presentations, this session will examine the confluence of literary forces from Dickey’s literary forebearers to his successors.  Please submit proposals/abstracts by May 15, 2007, to Robert W. Hill, Kennesaw State University, via email at rhill41@gmail.com or rhill@kennesaw.edu.  Submissions are also accepted via regular mail to Department of English, Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, GA  30144-5591.


Call for Essay Submissions:

Scholars and critics who are interested in reading a paper at the proposed special session at the MLA Convention in Chicago, IL, December 26 - 30, 2007, should submit a short vita and a one-page proposal no later than March 25, 2007 to thesingw@gwm.sc.edu

The topic is: Dickey and Gender, Class, Sexuality, and Race.


Call for Essay Submissions:

Professor William Thesing and Dr. Theda Wrede plan to edit a book, tentatively titled The Way We Read James Dickey: A New Collection of Essays.  Selected essays will be chosen for possible inclusion in this collection.  It is expected to be published by a distinguished university press.  Please submit your 15 - 25 page essay by April 30, 2007 to both editors: thesingw@gwm.sc.edu AND wrede@dixie.edu
